Egypt’s food industry exports have reached approximately $1.6 billion since the beginning of 2026, according to figures released by the Food Export Council.
The latest data reflects continued growth within Egypt’s food manufacturing and export sectors, supported by rising demand across regional and international markets.
Officials stated that export growth covered a wide range of food products, including processed foods, frozen goods, beverages, agricultural-based products, and packaged consumer items exported to markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The food industries sector remains one of Egypt’s key export contributors, benefiting from ongoing expansion in manufacturing capacity, international trade partnerships, and investment in food production infrastructure.
According to industry representatives, the increase in exports also reflects efforts to improve product quality, meet international standards, and strengthen the global competitiveness of Egyptian food products.
Authorities highlighted that Arab countries continued to rank among the largest importers of Egyptian food exports, while European and African markets also recorded growing demand during the first months of the year.
The sector has witnessed significant expansion in recent years as Egypt continues implementing broader economic strategies focused on increasing exports, supporting local manufacturing, and attracting industrial investment.
Officials added that the food export industry remains one of the country’s strategic sectors due to its role in supporting economic growth, foreign currency inflows, and employment opportunities across production and supply chains.
