EgyptAir has launched the first sensory support room at Cairo International Airport as part of efforts to improve travel accessibility and passenger support services.
The new facility is designed to assist passengers with sensory sensitivities, including individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other conditions that may make busy airport environments overwhelming. The initiative aims to create a calmer and more comfortable travel experience for passengers who may require additional support before boarding flights.
According to officials, the sensory support room includes specially designed lighting, calming colours, sound-reducing elements, and interactive features intended to help reduce stress and sensory overload inside the airport environment.
The project forms part of broader efforts by EgyptAir and Cairo International Airport to improve inclusive travel services and align with international accessibility standards in aviation and passenger care.
Officials stated that the launch reflects growing awareness around the importance of accessible public spaces and specialised support services for travellers with diverse needs.
The initiative also places Cairo International Airport among a growing number of international airports introducing sensory-friendly spaces to support neurodiverse passengers and families travelling through major transport hubs.
EgyptAir continues to expand passenger-focused services across its operations as part of wider development plans aimed at improving the travel experience and strengthening the airport’s regional and international competitiveness.
