Egyptian authorities have officially announced the Eid Al-Adha holiday period for public sector employees, with the break set to run from May 26th until May 31st.
The decision applies to ministries, government entities, public authorities, and state-owned institutions across the country as part of annual holiday arrangements marking Eid Al-Adha.
According to officials, work is scheduled to resume following the conclusion of the holiday period, while operational schedules for essential services and sectors will continue according to each institution’s internal regulations.
Eid Al-Adha is considered one of the most significant religious holidays in Egypt and across the Islamic world, often accompanied by increased travel movement, family gatherings, seasonal shopping, and public celebrations.
The extended holiday period is also expected to contribute to higher activity across tourism destinations, coastal cities, entertainment venues, and transportation networks during the Eid week.
Authorities typically announce official holiday schedules ahead of major religious occasions to support administrative coordination and public service planning nationwide.
