The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has confirmed that the implementation of remote work on Sundays throughout April 2026 will not affect the availability or quality of banking services in Egypt.
In an official circular regarding the activation of the remote work system, the Central Bank stated that all banks operating in Egypt will continue to function normally during official working days. This includes full operations across bank branches, customer call centers, and digital banking services, ensuring uninterrupted access for customers.
The CBE clarified that the work-from-home policy in Egypt will be limited to head office departments that do not provide direct services to customers. As a result, all customer-facing banking services will remain fully operational without any disruptions.
According to the Central Bank of Egypt, the decision is part of broader government efforts to reduce energy consumption while maintaining the efficiency and continuity of essential services across the country.
The announcement aims to reassure customers that banking operations in Egypt will continue seamlessly despite the temporary remote work measures implemented during April.
