After Years Away Safaa Abu El Saoud Returns to Maspero With a Radio Show

Veteran Egyptian actress, singer, and television presenter Safaa Abu El Saud is making a return to Maspero with a new radio programme titled “Al Mulhamoun.”

The show, announced by the National Media Authority, will air on Egypt’s main national radio station and will also be broadcast across regional stations, reaching audiences nationwide.

According to Mohamed Lotfy, Head of Radio, the programme will consist of 12 episodes, each with a duration of 30 minutes. It is scheduled to air weekly every Sunday.

“Al Mulhamoun” will focus on highlighting influential figures who have played important roles in shaping Egypt’s history across various fields. The programme places particular emphasis on individuals who have not been widely represented in television drama or documentary productions.

Among the figures featured in the series are renowned literary figure Naguib Mahfouz Mikhail, pioneering publishers Salim Takla and Beshara Takla, as well as prominent personalities such as Siza Nabarawi, Abla Nazira, and Anis Abid.

The programme is written by Ahmed El Qusbi and directed by Tamer Shehata, with Safaa Abu El Saud leading the presentation alongside a group of performers from Egyptian Radio.

This new project marks a significant return for Abu El Saud to Egypt’s national broadcasting scene, reflecting ongoing efforts to revive radio content that celebrates cultural and historical figures.
