Mohamed Salah has officially completed his move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, opening a new chapter in one of the most decorated careers in modern Egyptian football.
The 34-year-old joined the Süper Lig club on a free transfer after ending his nine-year spell with Liverpool. Trabzonspor confirmed the signing on August 6, with Salah agreeing to a two-year contract.
The transfer ends weeks of speculation surrounding Salah’s future and keeps the Egypt captain in European football after previous links with several clubs in Turkey and elsewhere.

According to Reuters, Salah’s agreement with Trabzonspor is worth around €17 million per season, with additional performance-related bonuses and commercial benefits included in the package. Trabzonspor formally announced the signing after Salah completed the final stages of the move in Turkey.
The club had confirmed earlier in the week that negotiations were underway, with Salah arriving in Istanbul for medical examinations and contract formalities before travelling to Trabzon for his unveiling.

Salah received a huge reception upon his arrival, with supporters gathering to welcome one of the biggest signings in the club’s history.

He scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for the Reds and helped the club win two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League and several other major trophies.
His 2024/25 campaign was among his strongest, with 29 league goals and 18 assists as he claimed the Premier League Golden Boot, Playmaker Award and Player of the Season honor.
The following campaign was more difficult, however, as his playing time and output declined amid tensions with then-Liverpool manager Arne Slot. His departure ultimately brought an end to one of the defining Premier League careers of his generation.

Trabzonspor finished third in the 2025/26 Turkish Süper Lig, securing a place in the UEFA Europa League playoff round for the new season.
