Celebrated Egyptian composer Hisham Nazih is preparing to meet Cairo audiences in a new way this November, with plans underway for what organizers are describing as his biggest and first-of-its-kind public concert in the capital.
The upcoming concert will feature a selection of Nazih’s best-known compositions from a career spanning Egyptian cinema, television and major international productions, giving audiences the chance to experience music normally associated with the screen in a large-scale live setting.
An exact date and venue have not yet been announced, while further details and ticket information are expected to be revealed closer to the event.
Hisham Nazih Brings His Famous Scores to the Stage
The November event is being organized by MAD Solutions and iEvents, the same companies that collaborated on Nazih’s special concert at the El Gouna Film Festival in 2024.
That performance, titled Cinema in Concert, marked the first time Nazih presented a concert built around his film music while also performing onstage himself. Accompanied by an orchestra conducted by Ahmed Farag, the programme revisited scores from films including El Sellem Wel Te’ban, Ibrahim Labyad, The Blue Elephant and Diamond Dust.
The new Cairo concert is expected to expand on that concept, bringing together compositions that have become closely associated with some of the most memorable films and television productions of the past several decades.
From Egyptian Cinema to Marvel
Nazih has built one of the most distinctive careers in contemporary Egyptian film music, composing scores for more than 40 films and television series.
His Egyptian credits include major productions such as The Blue Elephant, Kira & El Gin, Welad Rizk, Ibrahim Labyad and El Sellem Wel Te’ban.
His career has also expanded internationally. Nazih composed the music for Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, a project that earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination and introduced his work to an even wider global audience.
He later returned to the Marvel universe as composer of the animated series Eyes of Wakanda, further strengthening his presence in international film and television music.
A Composer Behind Some of Egypt’s Biggest Cultural Events
Beyond cinema and television, Nazih has increasingly become associated with some of Egypt’s most prominent cultural celebrations.
His music played a central role in the internationally broadcast Pharaohs’ Golden Parade, which transferred 22 royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in 2021.
More recently, Nazih composed a major orchestral work for the official opening celebrations of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025, performed by a large orchestra featuring Egyptian and international musicians.
His compositions were also featured at the Pyramids Echo Festival in November 2025, where the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performed works by Nazih alongside music by the late Egyptian composer Ammar El-Sherei.
A Rare Chance to Experience Nazih’s Music Live
While Egyptian audiences have heard Nazih’s compositions across countless films, television series and national events, dedicated live performances of his catalogue remain comparatively rare.
That makes the upcoming November concert particularly notable, offering Cairo audiences the opportunity to experience familiar themes outside their original cinematic settings and hear them reimagined as a live concert experience.
