Egypt to Launch Unified Online Water Platform With 49 Digital Services in October

Egypt is preparing to launch a new unified digital platform for drinking water and wastewater services, giving citizens access to 49 services online from the beginning of October 2026.

The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) said the platform will begin operating on a trial basis across 10 affiliated companies before gradually expanding nationwide. The project aims to make water services easier to access, reduce paperwork and limit the need for customers to visit service centers in person.

49 Water and Wastewater Services to Move Online

The new platform will bring 49 customer services into one digital system, covering drinking water and wastewater services as well as commercial procedures.

According to HCWW Chairman Mostafa El Shimi, the project is designed to standardize procedures across the company and its subsidiaries while making services faster and more convenient for customers.

The system will eventually be introduced across all 25 companies affiliated with HCWW, while commercial systems at six companies will also be replaced or upgraded as part of the digital transformation project.

Online Water Bill Payments to Expand

Electronic payment is one of the main features of the new platform.

Customers will be able to choose between different digital payment and collection methods, including payment companies, banks, financial institutions and electronic wallets. Fawry will participate in the first phase of the electronic payment system.

Online water-bill payment is already available through some existing channels in Egypt, but the new platform is intended to bring a broader range of services and payment options together under one unified system.

Trial Launch Begins in October 2026

The first phase of the platform is scheduled to launch on a trial basis at the beginning of October across 10 HCWW subsidiaries.

The participating companies cover:

  • Giza
  • Qalyubia
  • Dakahlia
  • Canal Governorates
  • Beni Suef
  • Minya
  • Assiut and New Valley
  • Fayoum
  • Luxor
  • Red Sea

The trial period will allow HCWW to evaluate the platform’s performance, test integration between different systems and resolve technical issues before expanding it further.

One Digital System for Water Services Across Egypt

The long-term goal is to create a single digital system connecting customer services and commercial operations across Egypt’s water and wastewater companies.

The platform is being developed in cooperation with Misr Advanced Systems Company and is designed to work alongside the different technologies currently used by HCWW subsidiaries before gradually moving them toward a unified system.

It will also provide updated operational data from affiliated companies, helping HCWW monitor performance, improve planning and support decision-making.

Egypt Continues Expanding Digital Government Services

The new water services platform forms part of a broader push by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities to digitize public services and make everyday government procedures more accessible online.

With 49 services planned and electronic payments built into the system, the October trial represents the first stage of a wider rollout that is ultimately expected to cover HCWW’s 25 affiliated companies across Egypt.
