Egypt Launches New Online Service to Check Medicine Availability

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has launched a new digital service called “Medicine Availability”, designed to help citizens easily locate medications across pharmacies without the need for time-consuming searches.

The platform allows users to check the availability of medicines by entering either the brand name or the scientific name, offering a more efficient way to find essential treatments. The initiative comes as a response to ongoing challenges faced by patients in locating certain medications, especially during periods of high demand.

The service is completely free and accessible 24 hours a day, reflecting Egypt’s broader efforts to enhance digital transformation within the healthcare sector. By providing real-time access to information, the platform aims to improve transparency and streamline the process of obtaining necessary medications.

According to the Egyptian Drug Authority, the new system is part of a wider strategy to modernize healthcare services and ensure better access to pharmaceutical products for all citizens. It also helps reduce the burden on patients who previously had to visit multiple pharmacies to find specific medicines.

Users can access the “Medicine Availability” service through the official Facebook page of the Egyptian Drug Authority. In addition, support is available via the hotline 15301, where users can receive assistance and guidance.

The launch of this digital service marks an important step toward improving healthcare accessibility in Egypt, making it easier for patients to find the medications they need quickly and efficiently.
