February 8 — Cairo: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a warning about dust storms expected to impact open areas across Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, and cities along the Suez Canal, as strong winds are forecast to carry sand and dust across several regions.
The Authority reported that wind speeds are expected to be especially strong along the northwestern coast, in the Matrouh desert region, and in parts of southern Egypt. These conditions may significantly reduce horizontal visibility, particularly on highways and open roads.
Officials advised residents, particularly individuals with allergies or sinus problems, to wear face masks when outside to minimize health risks. Motorists were also urged to remain cautious while driving due to the dusty atmosphere and possible visibility limitations.
In addition to the dusty conditions, temperatures are expected to increase across most areas of the country on Monday. Forecasts indicate that daytime highs could reach around 30°C in Cairo, while temperatures in Aswan may climb to approximately 34°C.
