Egyptian National Railways has announced a package of temporary adjustments to train schedules in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to better accommodate passengers’ travel patterns and working hours during the period.
The authority said the changes will take effect starting Saturday, February 18, 2026, and are designed to ease pressure on key routes during peak times, while ensuring smoother travel around iftar hours amid increased inter-governorate movement.
As part of the Ramadan operating plan, the railway authority will temporarily suspend the operation of Talgo air-conditioned trains No. 2026 and 2027 on the Cairo–Alexandria route and vice versa throughout the holy month, in order to reallocate services to routes expected to experience higher demand.
In addition, the departure time of Train No. 1915, the Cairo–Mansoura tourist service, has been adjusted. The train will now depart Cairo at 3:20 p.m. and arrive in Mansoura at 5:40 p.m., allowing passengers to reach their destination ahead of iftar.
